A Delayed Briefing

Tyrasius had risen from his deep sleep up in the Guardians bed chambers when he noticed another guard standing by, and looking like he had something to say. "What is it?" he grumbled as he sat up and had already been replacing the armor he took off when he fell asleep. The other guard gave him the orders of the new Dame Commander and he sighed deeply and pulled tight a strap on his over sized boot. "Alright." He didnt ask any questions, though it was typical of the large man. After replacing his armor he moved to a water pot and splashed water in his face then headed down the stairs to the main room and the door to the Commanders office. He moved to the door and gave it three loud knocks, waiting on a response before he would move in if instructed too.

Lyrena Auberan had been waiting in the mean time, patiently, continuing to consult a familiar journal left to her by the recent expedition's leader - Captain Keanan. A journal she put down for the moment when she heard those unmistakably heavy footsteps that were followed by equally heavy knocking. "Enter.", Lyrena invited as she looked towards the door - and later, the man that emerged from within - a half-giant who nearly had to duck his head when passing through the already spacious doorway. "Private Tyrasius.", she greeted cordially, but sternly. "Stand.", the Dame Commander clarified towards the soldier, her eyes peering in front of her - as if gesturing the half-giant to stand there, near the two chairs. Looking at the Private, Lyrena could likely tell he had just been suddenly awakened from a comfortable sleep, but made no mention of it. "Your visit to the Undercity last week.", she started off, straight to the point. "You have yet to report it." That was all the Dame Commander said for now. Her golden eyes followed the half-giant's own, studying his reaction.

Tyrasius opened the doors and made his way into the room, ducking it head out of instinct despite it being curved upwards giving him room to pass. His eyes met with the Commanders and he nodded to her. "Dame Commander." he responded as she had. When instructed to stand he did not seem to have an issue with that, being he just woke up. "Report..." he responded back as though thinking about this particular incident, or a way around it. "Just doing what the King told me too, Dame Commander. I didnt know I was reporting to you and the King." he took a deep breath and his eyes traveled her armor. "Not that it matters..." he added quickly after. " I followed Queen Etain Moonflower down into the Undercity. She attempted to slip down from what I gathered to purchase a... flower?" he said this with a bit of confusion in his voice. " After her transaction she was attacked. I responded in kind and a man was killed. The Queen was left unharmed, though a little shaken. I did inform the King as soon as it happened."

Lyrena Auberan leaned back in her large chair as the half-giant began to explain what had taken place. Her expression remained rigid - certainly a change of demeanor compared to the time the pair had briefly spoken at the cafe near the bank a fortnight ago. If nothing else, Tyrasius could at least assume that the Blood elf was at least trying to be serious at her new job. She stewed on the Private's story for a few moments once it finished. "I do not need to know every detail of your job as the Queen's sentry.", she confirmed to him. "But a man died. The people down there were upset. A few fights nearly broke out while your brothers and sisters were down there. Thankfully, they were wise to show more restraint than you.", she added. "Your brothers and sisters,", she mentioned them again. "They heard several retellings of the story. Many of which did not favor you. Understandably.", she nodded. "Tell me in more detail. How did it start? Who threw the first punch? Was his death necessary?"

Tyrasius seemed to be very calm himself, like a man with nothing to hide. He simply nodded his head and at the mention of attacks he restrained himself from laughing and he held a gloved hand in front of his face. "Apologies." he allowed her to finish and then glanced upwards at the ceiling, thinking again. " I know you're new to the city, but I was born here. There, to be specific. The Undercity. If you think that the Undercity dwellers were riled up because of something I did, then that was just the excuse they used this time to cause more trouble. Mihman, was a murderer, and kidnapper. He deserved every bit of that death I served to him, and more." he paused, the subject seemed to excite the half-giant, obviously disturbed by something the man had done. " He pulled a knife on the Queen. I was uncertain if he was to kill her, or kidnap her, but my orders were to keep her safe at all costs." he waited a moment. "But ill tell you the truth, Dame Commander. I enjoyed crushing his skull in my bear hands. And i'd do it a hundred times more, and never feel bad a single time."

Lyrena Auberan certainly didn't look like she appreciated Tyrasius' overly jolly demeanor after the end of her query, but for the moment, the Dame Commander did not verbally chide him him about it. "I am new to the city.", Lyrena unabashedly reiterated. "But the type of scum and villainy that dwells in those caves is not alien to me.", the Blood elf asserted as she leaned forward somewhat. "You came to Queen Etain's defense as you should have.", she said in a more understanding tone. "I cannot blame you for enjoying that man's demise either. We can rarely help how we feel.", the Blood elf said. It was clear a 'but' was about to follow. "But we can help how we act on our feelings. You are a Guardian. If this Mihman was guilty of the things you say, you should have dragged him here with your big hands and thrown him into a cell. But I understand that this has not been customary here. For the Guardians to enact the law down there. Not with Lord Commander Qiwenys, at least. I plan to change that. In time.", she said. "Either way, I see no reason to punish you. You were doing your duty, and the man you fought was swinging a knife.", she added. "But in the future, you will show more restraint. That day was hardly the first time in your life you found yourself to be a big man who knows not his own strength. Next time, break an arm. Knock teeth out."

Tyrasius watched Lyrena as he listened carefully to her words and though he did not seem to agree with her fully he would not interject himself and allowed her to finish. "Taking a prisoner is not an easy thing, especially in that particular situation, Dame Commander. But ill consider it more in the future." he swallowed what he really wanted to say and then glanced to his side at the door and back to her. " Im not sure what you hope to do with the Undercity, but if it involves trying to bring order to it, you're going to be in for a battle you may not win. Or are willing to pay the price, Dame Commander. Thats just my opinion, but do as you wish." he looked her armor over again. "When the King is done with me, I will follow your orders too, as I had the Lord Commander before you in either case."

Lyrena Auberan herself, in turn, readily agreed with the Private's first statement. "As it stands, you are right.", she gave him that, at least. "I appreciate your advice." There was honesty in her voice. It wasn't just a formal, polite way to acknowledge the half-giant's words without actually considering them. "Bringing order down there will take time. Years, possibly. And I have already started considering options. Thinking of ways to go about it." She craned her head up to meet Tyrasius' gaze again. "And I will want your counsel on the subject. When the time comes. Perhaps once your assignment with Queen Etain has ended. Considering your past, I see no one more qualified in these halls to give me advice on the matter." She then nodded, briefly stretching her arms behind her head, which did well to showcase her large breasts. "That will be all for now, Private Tyrasius." Just before the man exited the room, she had one last thing to say. "I was wrong to have doubted your smarts on that day." The day she had jested that the half-giant could hardly string together a sentence. He had certainly proven her more than wrong.

Tyrasius seemed to breath deeper when her words were more in agreement with his own thoughts and he nodded his head. " The Undercity serves its own type of order, though its not the same as you see here... even in its lawlessness and chaos. But I will offer what knowledge I have when that time comes." pausing a moment. "But I am no strategist." he added. His eyes found themselves moving to her chest as they were displayed better. With her dismissal he nodded and turned for the door but stopped when she added the last bit, not turning to look at her, his eyes remained on the door with hand stretched out. The giant man seemed to take a moment to consider his next words but he started to push through them as he did. "Im used to it." simply adding at the end and he exited her office, closing the door behind him.
