Floating Market District Canal

One of the main attractions of the city is its extensive shopping opportunities, which are available to both locals and tourists. The Floating Market District Canal, which runs from East to West and can only be accessed by boat, is the go-to destination for anyone interested in buying or selling goods. To shop along the canal, one must either purchase a tour that includes a floating market boat and driver or have their own rowboat-sized craft that is registered with the city. Only residents can hold a Spellrest Boat License. The act of navigating the canal is known as "looping," and it is recommended that loops not exceed 45 minutes to avoid congestion.

Floating Market Canal Vendors
The floating market canal vendors, whether permanent residents or visitors, operate their shops exclusively from boats that are accessible only to canal shoppers. These vendors rent their spots and load their personal boats with merchandise. The rental period can range from a single day to a maximum of three days. Spellrest ensures that the market remains vibrant by regularly changing vendors, particularly boat spots.

Permanent Shop Vendors
The permanent shop vendors are situated on the market's southern side and can be accessed by foot or boat. If floating market shoppers wish to visit a specific shop, they may request their driver to drop them off, which will release the driver from their loop. It should be noted that no refunds will be issued if a shopper decides to shorten their loop.

Many of the permanent vendors have been in their same location for years, as they rent their spaces on a monthly basis.

Other Merchants

Individuals selling goods in the Eastern Commons Tunnel are not authorized by the city of Spellrest and will be removed from their spots by the Spellrest Elite Guard during their patrols, which occur at unspecified intervals. Those who choose to engage in business with these merchants should exercise caution.

Fishermen regularly cast their lines into the waters of Spellrest and often offer fishing lessons. They are also able to sell their catch to interested parties.

Merchant Houses

Merchants, whether residing inside or outside the city, must possess and carry a Spellrest Merchant License. Those living within Spellrest must also possess Spellrest Resident papers. Many merchants reside in various locations, including Old Towne Canals, Aeloria's Crest (mostly noble and affluent merchant houses), rooms or suites within the Palace, and rental rooms throughout the city.

Merchant Row is available for rental to select individuals. These merchants have established an excellent reputation in Spellrest and are highly successful. While they must possess Spellrest Resident papers, they are not required to reside within the city on a full-time basis.
