Ezri Goldhand (and the Gurrousard Seekers)

Ezri Goldhand is probably about 60 years old, but she wouldn't admit it. She founded the famous treasure hunting band, the Gurrousard Seekers in her 20s with Hans Berwick, a human male, and Vendal Feyrin, a half-elf male.

Over their first fews years together, Berwick, Goldhand and Feyrin spent most of their time seeking out ancient treasures and selling them at the Mystic Market in Ansa`fel. As time went on - and treasures proved hard to come by - the three branched out into work as swords-for-hire and (sometimes) bounty hunters. They turned their hands to everything from guarding precious cargo along the Glittering Trail to hunting down notorious bandits like Evangren Darkmane.

As the work grew, the Seekers took on more members of the band, often hiring those that other bands declined because of their species or their background. Goldhand in particular felt that a more diverse troupe could be more versatile and successful. Feyrin grew to resent not being the only non-human and finally left the troupe when Goldhand hired Iskrin Orin’Darr - a youngish elf from the Glimmering Isles - some 30 years ago.

Hans Berwick sadly died before his time in a fight with the renowned assassin Brevik Tarn, who had been hired to kill a lover of Berwick’s. When Brevik found the two men in bed and attempted to take Povryn’s life, Berwick defended his love and Tarn killed them both.

Ezri Goldhand continued to lead the Seekers successfully for many years after Feyrin’s departure and Berwick’s death. She thinned out the band - by paying the older members to retire with a handsome pension of sorts - and worked to develop the Seekers’ reputation as finders of lost things and protectors of precious things, be they people or objects. She worked often and well with Lady Silmariel Quel'silith, seeking out ancient magical artifacts and other precious objects. She hired the Night Orc, Ven-Vyzran, which led to the departure of a number of the remaining members of the band, who felt that Goldhand had gone one step too far in her diversity hires. When she herself retired, after 25 years of leading the Seekers, to live on her wealth in Ansa`fel, Ven-Vyzran had gained such respect among the remaining troupe that he was unanimously appointed Chief.

These days Ezri spends much of her time in the bathhouse where she relaxes and listens and tells tall tales. Her mind remains sharp, though her body is suffering from its many years of hard wear and tear in the Seekers.

Just don't commit her to anything major or invent elements of her history without talking to Iskrin first. If you'd like to rp with her directly as a proper character, just let Iskrin know and he can bring her online.
